The intricate surface patterns etched into the front and the back of the mirrors are visual maps of the eye movement of two strangers looking at each other’s faces.  The intent was to create an object where the basic function (to mirror and reflect the viewer’s gaze) is conceptually heightened through design.   When looking at your reflection in the Strangers Mirror your gaze is intertwined with the graphic trace of another’s gaze.
