WHAT DOES HELEN MARIA FIND INSPIRING? TAKE A LISTEN!
BIG NEWS!
Helen Maria Nugent was appointed Dean of the Design Division at California College of the Arts (CCA). She will oversee CCA’s Design Division starting in August, 2017.
“CCA is a front-runner in design education. I am eager to join such an accomplished and diverse body of faculty, staff, and students at this pivotal moment when the community is transitioning to a single San Francisco campus. The unification presents an unprecedented opportunity for my colleagues to think anew about their work and engage in cross-disciplinary dialogue around contemporary practice with their peers in fine art, architecture, and the humanities and sciences. I am excited to bring the Design Division faculty and staff together to share their ambitions and craft a compelling vision of how CCA will shape the future of design education.” Dean Nugent,

Haelo to exhibit in the 2nd Istanbul Design Biennial
Haelo Design will debut their latest project titled, 'Manifesting the Look of Love' at the 2nd Istanbul Design Biennial / IDB2 (1 November - 14 December 2014).
Organised by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) and curated by Zoë Ryan and associate curator Meredith Carruthers, the biennial titled “The Future Is Not What It Used To Be” hosts 53 projects that ask: “What is the future now?” By rethinking the manifesto as a platform to frame pertinent questions, the projects question the role of design, its relationship to society, and its ability to be an active agent for change.
The exhibition at the Galata Greek Primary School, the hub of the 2nd Istanbul Design Biennial, will spread over all five floors of the school, an area of approximately 2,300 square metres. The projects imagine new possibilities that can transform the present and invite new potential futures. Arranged in five departments— Personal, Norms and Standards, Resource, Civic Relations, and Broadcast — the projects question the manifesto as a platform for situating ideas and pointing to new directions.
Press Previews on 30-31 October.
