The Strangers Series consists of 4 pairs acrylic wall mirrors with intricately etched surface patterns. These delicately overlapping diagrams are extracted from eye-tracking software that maps how the human eye moves over visual subjects - in this case, human faces. The patterns are reconfigured from original data collected by cognitive psychologist Steven Franconeri. When looking into the mirror, the viewer’s reflection is intertwined with the graphic trace of another’s gaze.

This first edition of the Stranger Series was commissioned by curator and publisher Dan Devening for a collection entitled, "Go Between." Mirrors from this edition are available directly from Devening Projects and Editions
